Recognitions in the field of Infocommunications: Imre Bölcskei and József Bugyi received this year’s Dr. Endre Magyari Award

NMHH: Two bidders won 80 MHz in the 3400-3800 MHz band
On 7 June the National Media and Infocommunications Authority of Hungary (NMHH) announced the winners of the auction procedure for acquiring frequency usage rights in the 3400-3800 MHz frequency band. DIGI Távközlési és Szolgáltató Kft. and Vodafone Magyarország Zrt, the winners in the upper and lower band, respectively, together offered HUF 896.6 million for the ten user basic blocks in total to utilise the 3400-3800 MHz frequency band.

First Presentation of the Dr. Endre Magyari Award by NMHH’s President
István Bartolits and Károly Fiala are the first winners of the Dr. Endre Magyari Award, a prize established by the President of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) last year to recognize decades of excellence and a lifetime achievement in the development of the infocommunications market. The awards were presented by NMHH President Monika Karas in Győr on Thursday, on the 48th World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
The National Media and Infocommunications Authority’s Spectrum Auction is Underway
The Office of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, Hungary (NMHH) has announced an auction for the right of use of a 10.8 MHz block of spectrum in the 900 MHz (E-GSM) band. The spectrum will allow access to state-of-the-art, third and fourth generation mobile services, with a potential to increase broadband coverage even further.
